Title: Chapter 2: Morning Melodies

The morning sun poured into the room like a warm embrace, casting playful shadows as the sisters navigated the chaos of the day. Hetvi, reluctantly emerging from the bathroom, finally hung up on her fiancé after a lengthy conversation filled with sweet nothings and laughter. She stepped out, a blush creeping onto her cheeks.

“Okay, okay, I’m ready! Can’t believe you pushed me in there,” she said, a teasing lilt to her voice. Pratiksha, now dressed in a simple yet elegant outfit, rolled her eyes.

“Next time, I won’t be so nice,” she replied, fixing her hair in the mirror. “You know today is important. The groom and his family are coming over; it’s not just any day.”

“Yeah, yeah, I know. But can’t a girl enjoy a little romance before the chaos?” Hetvi shot back, sticking her tongue out playfully.

The two shared a moment of laughter before the weight of the day settled back onto their shoulders. The air was thick with unspoken nerves as they prepared for the arrival of Kirti's future in-laws. Kirti reappeared in the doorway, arms crossed and a smirk on her face.

“Are you two done with your pillow talk? The house isn’t going to clean itself!” she declared, her tone light but firm.

“Fine, we’ll help. Just give us a few minutes,” Pratiksha responded, her voice tinged with the urgency of the morning.

As the sisters rushed about, Hetvi’s phone buzzed again. This time, it was a text from her fiancé, Hem“Can’t wait to see you later! I’ll be thinking about you all day.” A smile broke across her face as she read his words, but the joy was short-lived as a thought crossed her mind—what would his family think of her?

“Hetvi! You okay?” Pratiksha’s voice cut through her thoughts. She looked up to see both the sisters staring at her.

“Yeah, just got a message from Hem,” Hetvi replied, trying to mask her sudden anxiety. “It’s just… you know, what if they don’t like me?”

“Stop it! They will love you! And if they don’t, then who cares? You’re perfect just the way you are See today Atharva and his family are coming over so it should be me who should be stressed not u .you keep ur stress for later when ur in-laws will be here ,” Kirti reassured her, though her own eyes betrayed a hint of worry.

“Let’s focus on making a good impression today. Maa has high expectations,” Pratiksha added, her voice dropping to a whisper as they all gathered in the living room, ready to prepare for the guests.

As they arranged flowers and set the table, the doorbell rang, sending a jolt of adrenaline through the room. The three girls exchanged nervous glances. Pratiksha took a deep breath and opened the door to reveal a well-dressed couple, the future in-laws, accompanied by Atharva, who looked equally nervous but offered a reassuring smile.

“Namaste!” the woman greeted warmly, her eyes sparkling with curiosity as she took in the girls. “We’re so excited to meet you all!”

As the introductions unfolded, Kirti felt her heart race. Her mind raced with questions—would they like her? Would they approve of her and Atharva? But as they settled in, laughter began to fill the room, easing the tension.

But just as things began to flow smoothly, a loud crash echoed from the kitchen. The sisters exchanged worried glances, and before anyone could react, Hetvi dashed toward the sound. The air thickened with uncertainty as the rest followed.

The scene in the kitchen was chaotic. Flour was splattered everywhere, and Hetvi’s pet cat, Meera, was perched on the counter, her mischievous eyes gleaming with mischief.

“What happened?” Kirti exclaimed, hands on her hips, while Pratiksha burst into laughter, unable to contain herself.

“Meera decided she wanted to help with the cooking!” Hetvi said, shaking her head as she tried to catch the cat, who darted across the counter, leaving a trail of flour in her wake.

The laughter and commotion drew everyone into the kitchen, breaking the ice further. As they all worked together to clean up the mess, the initial formality dissolved, replaced by a sense of camaraderie and warmth.

But in the back of Kirti's mind, a new worry began to creep in. As the family began to share stories and laughter, she couldn't shake the feeling that today was just the beginning of something much larger, something that would test their bonds and perhaps reveal secrets that had long been buried.

Little did they know, the arrival of Kirti's in-laws would not only bring joy and laughter but also unveil unexpected challenges that would change their lives forever. The day was just beginning, and the real journey was yet to unfold.

“Let’s just hope Meera doesn’t steal the show,” Pratiksha joked, casting a sly wink at Kirti, who couldn’t help but smile back, even as her heart raced with anticipation for what was to come.

That's it for now
